In the vicinity of the cottage there are countless opportunities for outdoor sports, trips in the beautiful wild nature and well-deserved rest. The summer is ideal for mountain and road biking, rock and alpine climbing, ferrata and of course wild river rafting. In winter you can head to several ski resorts around the area for ski touring, cross-country skiing or snowshoeing.
If you are interested, we will be happy to personally accompany you on the above activities or advise you on your choice. We have been going to the Salza River Valley for several years as outdoor sports instructors and it was the surrounding wildlife and sporting opportunities that were the reason for the acquisition and renovation of our cottage.

Mountain and road cycling - directly from the cottage
Rock climbing - 2km Wildalpen, the whole Hochschwab and NP Gesäuse
Via Ferrata - Hochkar 20min by car, Hochschwab and Gesäuse
Hiking - in the area from the chalet, Hochschwab and Gesäuse
WINTER:
Skialps: directly from the chalet in good snow conditions, otherwise within 15min drive
Downhill skiing: Wildalpen 3km (1 lift and 1 slope), Hochkar 20min by car (resort with 19km of slopes and complete facilities)
Cross-country skiing: Wildalpen 3km (smaller groomed track), Göstling Hochreit 30km (30km of groomed tracks)
Waterfalls Wasserlochklamm - Palfau 10km - beautiful large waterfalls of 3km along a trail with bridges and ladders
Agritourism - farm with animal viewing and excellent restaurant - Göstling Hochreit 30km
Forest sauna - Wildalpen 3km - cosy public sauna in the forest above Wildalpen, with a pleasant sauna, unusual refreshment in a flowing stream and a 25m long swimming pool.
Forest swimming pool - Hinterwildalpen 7km - a beautiful alpine swimming pool by the forest at the foot of the mountains with a flowing stream, always refreshing water and the possibility to relax under the shade of the trees or sunbathing on the grass.
Salt baths with swimming pool - Göstling a/Y 25km - baths with 27 and 34 degrees, wild river, water slide, children's pool and sauna world for adults.
If you are interested, we will be happy to be available as instructors of the above mentioned outdoor activities or guides in the area. We also regularly organize outdoor courses in rock climbing, ferrata and ski mountaineering at the cottage.
